Techny arborvitae tree description

Known as Thuja occidentalis 'techny' in the scientific world, the techny arb is considered to be the hardiest of arborvitae and is said to be more drought tolerant and cold resistance. These wonderful evergreen trees have a slightly darker green foliage than the standard American arborvitae. The natural pyramid shape make and moderate growth rate make it a natural choice for windbreaks and hedge rows. Recommended planting distance when chossing this is said to be three and a half feet. Much like the other arbs, the Techny arborvitae is tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions and will tolerate some shade, but prefers full sun. Once established they will require very little care. Additionally, the techny arborvitae grows somewhat smaller than other varieties. Grows best in Zones 3-8.

Shipping begins mid-April once the frost is out of the ground. All plants are shipped bare root from our family nursery in Midwestern Wisconsin. Please understand that commiting to a shipment date before this time frame just is not possible, however, if mother nature is kind and the ground thaws early then the trees will ship early.
